Bastogne Campaign

Campaign Objectives

The overall objective of the German forces was to cross the Meuse River (off map to the west), encircle major portions of the Allied armies, and destroy them. Posession of Bastogne was important to this operation, as it would allow more efficient resupply of the panzer spearheads moving west. However, capturing Bastogne was not so important that all of the resources available to the Germans could be devoted exclusively to its capture; most of the armour and motorised troops had to keep moving to the west.

By the same token, the US needed to hold Bastogne, but also had other defensive responsibilities.

These additional resonsibilities will become apparant as the campaign progresses, nevertheless, victory in the game is determined by which side holds Bastogne at the end of the game on 26th December 1944.
